APAAR ID: Online Registration, Benefits, How To Download

In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Ministry of Education and the Government of India introduced the APAAR ID card to assign unique ID numbers to schoolchildren all around the country.
All students will benefit from the APAAR ID, also called the “One Nation One Student ID Card,” since all of their academic information, including awards, degrees, scholarships, and other credits, will be digitally transferred to the ID.

Full Form of APAAR ID

The full form of APAAR ID is the ‘Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry’. In order to provide ID cards, the Indian government established the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Bank). Known as a “EduLocker,” this card acts as a register for the education environment.

What is APAAR ID ?

The Ministry of Education introduced the APAAR ID card, a digital identification card for students attending public and private educational institutions in India. Students will be able to access their academic credits, degrees, and other information online with the use of this ID card.

The APAAR card is a permanent identification number that facilitates faster transfers between schools and keeps track of students’ academic progress. All students enrolled in pre-primary through higher education will receive this card from the schools and colleges. The pupils’ current Aadhaar ID and the APAAR card will be complementary.

After completing the APAAR card registration, students can download their card. Students may effortlessly retain their academic records and take advantage of all the benefits with the 12-digit APAAR number included on their APAAR card.

The children’s Aadhaar card number will also be connected to their One Nation One Student ID card. The APAAR ID is a big step in giving students a well-organised and easily accessible academic experience.

Online Registration for APAAR ID

Students need to have a valid Aadhaar card in order to register for an APAAR ID. Additionally, they need to register for an account on DigiLocker, which is where e-KYC is done. After getting parental approval, schools and institutions are required to begin the registration process for APAAR ID cards for their students. Additionally, parents have the right to change their mind at any time. The kids should receive a format form from their schools or universities, which the parents should complete and turn in. The APAAR ID card will be made by the schools with the permission of the parents.

Steps to generate APAAR-ID Card :

  • Open Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Bank) website i.e https://www.abc.gov.in/
    Click on ‘My Account’ and select the ‘Student’ option.
  • Click ‘Sign up’ and enter the required details such as Mobile no, Address and Aadhaar Card details to create a DigiLocker account.
  • Log in to the DigiLocker account using the login credentials.
  • DigiLocker will ask for your consent to share the Aadhaar card details with ABC for KYC verification. Select ‘I agree’.
  • Enter the academic details such as school name or university name, class, course name, etc.
  • In the last step, Submit the form and the APAAR ID card will be generated.

Steps to Download APAAR ID Card

  • Open Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Bank) website i.e https://www.abc.gov.in/
  • Login to the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Bank) website.
  • On the dashboard, locate and click the ‘APAAR card download’ option.
  • The APAAR card will appear on the screen.
  • Click on the download or print option.
  • The APAAR card will get downloaded.

  • The APAAR ID card gives students a permanent identification number that enables them to track their academic reports and accomplishments with ease.
  • The APAAR ID card will centralise the digital storage of student information, including learning outcomes, exam results, report cards, health records, and extracurricular accomplishments like Olympiad rankings, specialised skill training, etc.

  • Academic information, such as scholarships, diplomas, rewards, and other student credits, will be digitally centralised.
  • The ABC Bank will be directly connected to the APAAR ID. As a result, when a student completes a semester or course, the credits are immediately recorded in the ABC, which is accepted by all Indian universities.
  • Students can use the credit score they receive through their APAAR IDs for university entrance exams or higher education.
  • The APAAR card contains all the data necessary to identify a student. It includes details about the student’s name, address, date of birth, gender, picture, sports participation, educational loans, scholarships, and other honors, among other things.
  • The APAAR ID will be used to create a DigiLocker account for the student.
    Through APAAR ID cards, the students can directly receive government benefits under government schemes.

The Ministry of Education will keep all the information stored on the APAAR card safe and the possibility of its misuse will be negligible. It will use this information only for educational use.
