The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, Samsung’s flagship device for 2023, is the company’s first attempt at introducing dedicated graphics. In its base configuration, it comes with an RTX 4050, a 13th generation Intel i7 and 512GB of storage for less than 2500 pounds, or roughly 2200 dollars. Its credibility is further enhanced by Intel Evo certification, and the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is now a competitor of the MacBook 16.
The Intel 13th generation 8 series i7 and i9 processors are robust 45-watt chips that have significantly more power than their P series counterparts. There are two RAM capacities available: 16 and 32 gigabytes. One major disadvantage is that the memory is soldered on. The lack of a 32GB RAM variant on the top-end model also raises a few eyebrows and could prove to be a bottleneck.

While it outperforms integrated chips like the XE line, it falls short of dedicated gaming laptops indicating a trade-off between portability and performance.

A beautiful and sharp 16 by 10 120Hz AMOLED display is included with the Galaxy Book 3. Better HDR, accurate color reproduction and brighter visuals are offered by Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel. The best battery performance is achieved with the 3K resolution, which strikes a balance between Quad HD Plus and 4K.
Having color accuracy of 99 DCI P3, 95 Adobe RGB and 100 sRGB, it is perfect for designers and graphic artists. The screen achieves an unmatched Max brightness despite the glossy finish even exceeding Samsung’s claimed numbers. You can choose either of them if the Mac 16 and Book 3 displays are causing you any concern because in my opinion, Samsung display is comparable to the Mac display.
Galaxy Book 3 Ultra Design
Similar in appearance to the MacBook, Galaxy Book 3 Ultra boasts a sophisticated and high-end design. Because it has a 16-inch screen and weighs only 1.79 kg, it is also portable. Nonetheless, there are compromises made in terms of key size and the large trackpad does affect the keyboard layout.
Galaxy Book 3 Ultra Connectivity
Two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, three USB-A 3.2 ports, a Micro SD card reader, an audio jack, and two HDMI ports are among the connectivity features. That’s impressive but considering the device’s price and intended user base, users may find it disappointing that it doesn’t have an HDMI 2.1 or a full-size SD card. On the plus side, the device performs better thanks to the upgradeable PCIe4 SSD and vapor chamber cooler. All in all it has every connectivity feature.
High Quality Sound and Camera
Quad AKG-tuned speakers produce high-quality sound by producing loud, clear audio without sacrificing quality. Although the webcam on the device does not support Windows Hello, it is nevertheless quite good and has some unique features like background blur and eye contact mode.
